It acts as a safety “break away”, allowing the rope to break if it becomes entangled in trees or ship masts. It is attached to the V strap with 2 stainless steel screw links. The V-shaped strap should be attached to the litter with 2 locking carabiners. The kit is all contained in a 7\" diameter x 23\" bag (coyote tan).
