- Performance Compression Band - Reinforced polyester webbing maximizes compression during the application process. At a true 1.5" width, the performance material glides through the Rugged Buckle for quick, snag-free operation and minimizes loss of pressure over time after application.
- Slack Indicator Wedge - Stitched into the Performance Compression Band below the windlass. The contrasting wedge offers a visual confirmation you have pulled all excess slack from the band. This is a critical step for proper tourniquet application and results in fewer windlass rotations required to reach occlusion.
- Rugged Buckle - Engineered to remove excess slack in a single fluid motion. The buckle's shape stabilizes the Performance Compression Band at any angle of engagement. The Rugged Buckle is an advanced, lightweight composite design with superior strength over previous versions.

Finally upgrading to the 5th gen SOFTT-W
I have been carrying a 4th generation SOFTT-W with my EDC since 2020 and although the old TQ looks ok aside from some pocket lint, I figured it is best to retire this one and upgrade to the 5th gen version. I haven't been carrying it long, but I like it very much. It seems just like my older one with much appreciated upgrades. The tension triangle that ensures that you have the TQ taught before spinning the windlass is a great visual if you're looking for it and the plastic buckle is so nice since the clanking in my pocket from the metal buckle on the 4th gen TQ drove me nuts some days. Overall, it's very similar to its previous generation, but it has some great upgrades and the form factor of this TQ, once flat-packed, makes it my go-to options for EDC pocket carry. I highly recommend it if you don't like the CAT, TMT, or Sam XT tourniquets.

These are great with the clip, you can not also slide a CAT 3 this just makes it easier, but I carry both.

SOF T GEN 5
I haven't had the opportunity to check out a CAT 7 but I really like this SOF-T. I currently own this as well as the SAM XT. The SAM XT is a great TQ but is very bulky in comparison to the SOF T. People had concerns with them changing the buckle from metal to a polymer on the Gen 5 but it feels very sturdy as well as slightly lighter than the metal version. I don't foresee having any issue with it compared to the Gen 4.

An overall improvement on the Gen 4 SOFTT
Many improvements over the gen 4. Easier to reattach buckle if you can't loop around the limb. Webbing is a touch thicker and is of a more 'seat belt' style of nylon which is softer, but a bit more rigid which seems to make single-handed operation easier. More fabric to tighten for the windlass adds a bit more flexibility and leniency if the original starting point wasn't tight enough. The main buckle is now sturdy polymer, but that does not appear to be a detriment at all. The new design appears to be possibly stronger at that point. Still packs down very compactly and stages well for quick deployment.
