Advanced Medications Module

The Advanced Medications Module is an assortment of unit dose meds, electrolytes, and topical treatments. Provided in quantities suitable for extended outings, expeditions, or larger groups. All contained in separate ziplocks, then all loaded in a waterproof, airtight, and resealable PVC bag.

Aspirin (Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer) 325 mg
Reduce fever and relieve mild to moderate pain from conditions such as muscle aches, toothaches, common cold, and headaches. It may also be used to reduce pain and swelling in conditions such as arthritis. Take this medication with a full glass of water by mouth, as directed by your doctor. Swallow the capsule whole. Do not cut, crush, or chew the capsules.

Acetaminophen (Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer) 325 mg
Analgesic drug for fever and flu symptoms, minor aches and pains, menstrual cramps, toothache, and common colds. Adult Dosage: Take 1 to 2 tablets every 4-6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 12 tablets in 12 hours or as directed by doctor. Do not give to children under 12 years of age. Comparable to Tylenol®.

Ibuprofen (Pain Reliever/Fever Reducer/Inflammation Reducer) 200 mg
Non-steroidal, anti-inflammatory analgesic drug for headache, toothache, backache, muscular aches, and minor arthritis pain. Adult Dosage: Take 1 to 2 tablets every 4 -6 hours while symptoms persist. If pain or fever does not respond, two additional tablets may be taken. Do not exceed 6 tablets in 24 hours unless directed by doctor. Do not take with Aspirin - they compete with one another. Comparable to Advil®.

Diphenhydramine (Allergic Reactions, Colds, Sleep) 25 mg
Antihistamine for stings, bites, allergies and cold symptoms. Adult Dosage: Take 1-2 capsules every 6 hours or as needed for sleep. Comparable to Benadryl®.

Diamode (Anti-Diarrheal) Loperamide Hydrochloride, 2 mg
Adult Dosage: Take 2 caplets after the first loose bowel movement followed by 1 caplet after each subsequent loose bowel movement. Take no more than 4 caplets a day for no more than two days. Comparable to Immodium®.

Diotame (Anti-Diarrheal/Anti-Nausea/Upset Stomach) Bismuth Subsalicylate, 262 mg
May be used prophylactically. Adult Dosage: Take 2 tablets every ½ to 1 hour as needed. To prevent diarrhea take 2 tablets 4 times daily. Do not give to children under 12 years of age. Comparable to Pepto-Bismol®.

Alamag (Indigestion/Heartburn/Upset Stomach) Dried Aluminum Hydroxide Gel, 200 mg
150 mg Magnesium Hydroxide tablets. Alamag is an antacid for treatment of indigestion/heartburn/upset stomach. Adult Dosage: Chew 1 to 2 tablets thoroughly. Use after meals or at bedtime. Alamag may also be taken as needed up to 16 tablets daily. Do not give to children under 12 years of age. Comparable to Maalox®.

Ceralyte (Dehydration/Electrolyte Replacement) 10 grams
Rice-based oral electrolyte salts. For replacement of electrolytes and fluids lost through diarrhea and vomiting. Dissolve packet into 7 oz. (200 ml) of clean drinking water. Begin drinking slowly, small sips at a time. Volume can be increased as needed.

CeraSport EX1 (Electrolyte Replacement) 4 packets
Rice-based oral electrolyte salts (contains Stevia). For replacement of electrolytes and fluids lost through diarrhea and vomiting. Each 12.5g packet can be mixed with 500mL of clean drinking water. Recommended for use during shorter events or bouts of strenuous physical activity.

Antibiotic Ointment (Infection Prevention)
Clean the affected area. Apply a small amount of this product to the area 1 to 3 times daily. Cover as necessary with a sterile dressing.

Hydrocortisone Ointment (Anti-itch) 1%
For the temporary relief of itching associated with minor skin irritations and rashes. Apply to affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily. Do not use on children under 2 years of age.
