What Our Customers Say

This kit is perfect for what we buy and donate to the officers!

I’ve been using Rescue-Essentials for all of my medical needs for years. Always a great selection, competitive prices and a great experience.

As a relatively new customer with about 10 separate purchases, I can say Rescue Essentials has always been concise and accurate with all my orders,
very fast to ship and have very competitive pricing. Even though I'm not a "professional", I am attracted to the 'top shelf' quality merchandise
offered here and the true professional people who stand behind these products. The products brought me here, the people bring me back.
FAQs
How are K9 IFAKs different than human IFAKs?
First aid kits for dogs include items that are safe and effective for canines. Additionally, function considerations come in
to play like ensuring a tourniquet can fit effectively around a dog’s limb, dressings that don’t get tangled in fur, and includes
tools like a muzzle. K9 IFAKs by Rescue Essentials are generally built with human-grade medical supplies that are also suitable and ideal for treating K9 injuries.
What kinds of medical supplies are in a K9 first aid kit?
As with human medical kits, it is important to consider what kinds of risks the dog may encounter when selecting or building an IFAK. For example,
law enforcement K9s in the field have different common or likely injuries vs. a family dog in the woods. For professional K9s, consider traumatic
injuries such as severe bleeding, chest injuries, burns, orthopedic breaks or sprains. Make sure personal protective equipment is included as well,
especially a muzzle to protect responders from a dog in distress.
Are there tourniquets specifically for dogs?
As featured in many of our Rescue Essentials K9 IFAKs, there are a few tourniquet options that are effective for dogs. The TacMed K9 Tourniquet is
similar to a traditional windlass-style tourniquet with added features to keep it in place. The Slishman Pressure Wrap and SWAT-T tourniquet are
also ideal for small limbs and have added versatility as a tool.
Can I carry a single first aid kit to cover both me and my dog?
Absolutely! Rescue Essentials K9 IFAKs are all built with human-grade medical components but with carrying for an injured K9 in mind. So, kits like the
K9 and Handler Comprehensive Medical Kit provide tools to address a wide range of injuries in both dogs and humans.
Can I customize a kit for my unit's specific needs?
Yes. We offer extensive customization options and work directly with tactical units to build kits
that match your SOPs, training protocols, and mission requirements. Our customer service team
can help configure the following items: tourniquets, chest seals, trauma shears, gauze,
bandages, and other specialized medicine components.
