Description

Med Stream® prefilled normal saline flush syringes contain a solution made up of 0.9% sodium chloride (9 mg/mL) in water to provide sterile, isotonic injection for use in flushing catheters. The prefilled flush syringe may be used following the injection or infusion of medication to maintain the patency of indwelling intravenous access devices. The isotonic solution in the ISO-compliant, large-barrel, luer lock syringe design employs no-reflux flushing technology and is compatible with intravenous tubing, indwelling catheters, and other access devices used in intermittent injection, infusion therapy, or blood sampling. They are available in a variety of fill volumes to accommodate different catheter maintenance practices. The total osmolar concentration of the solution is0.308 mOsm/mL.
