Manual Suction Device That Actually Works

    Posted by Matt EMT-B on 09 26 2016

If you've worked EMS or military medical you know that the manual suction devices that have a pistol grip and require squeezing your hand into a fist a half billion times to build up the negative pressure of an ant suckng a straw. This device actually works, and very easily generates suction. Less effort for working, decent amount (comparable using a portable electric suction with yankauer tip attached) of suction. Takes up a smaller amount of space in the airway section of my bag than traditional (nonworking) manual suction devices. Unfortunately doesn't have any way to attach French (soft) catheters, but we're mainly concerned with suctioning the oral cavity in critical situations. Summary: the only manual suction product that actually works. Would recommend to all agencies and for all personal kits.
