Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between IV and IO access?

IV access delivers fluids and medication through a vein, the first choice for intravenous treatment when veins are accessible. IO access drives a needle into the marrow space of a bone to reach circulation when veins are collapsed or hard to find quickly. Many providers carry both so they have a fallback in shock and arrest situations.

Do I need to be a licensed provider to buy these supplies?

Several items, including IV start kits and catheters, are packaged for medical professional use only and require you to certify you are a trained healthcare provider authorized under your local protocols. If you are buying for an agency or department, our team can help you confirm what fits your scope and verify your order.

What catheter gauge should I stock?

Lower numbers are larger bore. 14g to 16g move fluid and blood fast for trauma and resuscitation, 18g to 20g cover most adult medical calls, and 22g to 24g suit pediatric and difficult sticks. Most providers carry a range, which is why our start kits offer a range of gauges.

Can I order individual components, or only complete kits?

Both. You can buy a sealed start kit for grab-and-go readiness, or restock individual medical supplies like catheters, administration sets, normal saline, and saline lock kits to refill what you used without repurchasing a whole setup.

How do I keep a saline lock or IV line from dislodging in the field?

Movement and evacuation are hard on lines. Our saline lock kits include securing devices that hold the catheter without tape, and IV securing wraps add another layer of protection during patient movement so access stays in place until the patient reaches a facility.

Can agencies order custom or bulk quantities?
