PEDS Dosage Tape

The PEDS Trauma Tape is a color-coded, length-based measuring tape designed as a quick-reference tool for prehospital pediatric trauma care. By matching a child's measured length to a color designation, providers can quickly access estimated weight, medication dosages and concentrations, and defibrillation energy recommendations.

The tape also provides guidance for managing time-critical emergencies, including massive hemorrhage, airway and breathing complications, tension pneumothorax, head injury, and burns. Additional references include IV/IO access, emergency equipment sizing, vasoactive medications, oral rehydration solution preparation for humanitarian settings, and fluid management for children with burns involving more than 10% total body surface area (TBSA), including both burn resuscitation and maintenance fluid requirements.

The PEDS Trauma Tape is intended for use in children up to 12 years of age or with an estimated maximum weight of 36 kg (79 lb).
